Difference Between College Life and Marriage Life

College Life vs Marriage Life

College life and Marriage life contain vast differences between them. Both are stages of extreme significance in a person’s life. In each stage, major changes are visible in the lives of individuals. College life can be defined as the life of an individual who attends college. On the other hand, marriage life can be defined as the life of two individuals who have come together through holy matrimony.  There are a number of differences between the two lives. One of the main differences is that in college life the focus is on a single individual. In marriage life, this is not the case. It involves two people who have decided to continue life together as one. Also, there is a difference in the duration of time as well. While college life is confined to a shorter period of time, marriage life is not.  It can be a long one. However, there are exceptions to this as well.

What is College Life?

College life can simply be defined as the life of a single individual. The individual can be either a male or female. During this stage of life, the student concentrates on academics and is more oriented towards employment and career options. A college student is expected to be responsible for himself and also for his future. Unlike in the case of school life, college life contains much more freedom and also accountability for individual actions. Since the complete attention is on the individual itself, there is plenty of opportunities and time for students to develop their skills and abilities in order to be successful individuals. College life is also characterized by the experiences undergone by students who are on the threshold of life in terms of employment and career building. Most college students engage in part time jobs and internships as a means to building up their career. It can also be considered as an ambiance for students to get exposure to the industrial setting. Most importantly, College life should be spent focusing primarily on the enrichment of knowledge and building up career opportunities. This is because it is a unique stage of life, which allows the individual to fully embrace the role of the adult.

What is Marriage Life?

On the other hand, marriage life pertains to the life of two individuals who have come together by holy matrimony.  It is oriented more towards the well being of two individuals unlike in college life. This highlights that both individuals are responsible for their marriage life and should contribute to its well being. Marriage life can only be successful if there is a good understanding between the spouses. It often fails when they lack understanding. Hence, it is said that in many cases marriage life becomes short due to this lack of understanding. Modern world bears evidence to this reality with the increase of divorces throughout the world. This is not to claim that all marriages end in misery. There are several instances of long marriage life where the spouses have struck perfect understanding between them. Marriage life is thus characterized by a blend of not only two individuals but by two minds as well. Marriage life is very often remembered and celebrated by couples in a grand manner unlike in the case of college life which becomes forgotten.
