Despite the similarities, there are some differences between Disneyland and Disneyworld. Disneyland and Disneyworld are legacies of Walt Disney, the world famous cartoonist. These are theme parks that are popular tourist destinations in the US, and people, especially kids enjoy having a whale of a time in these parks. It is really difficult to compare the two parks as both have their own identity and attractions. Both Disneyland and Disneyworld provide people with an escape from reality and an entry into a fantasy world. However, you should keep in mind that some people prefer Disneyland because they say it is the original place while some people prefer Disneyworld because it is huge when compared to Disneyland. At the end of the day, the choice is yours.

What is Disneyland?

Disneyland is located in Orange County, California, which is a very densely populated area. Disney does not have that much of additional land to expand. Disneyland has just 2 parks. Despite this, people say that Disneyland is better than Disneyworld as it gives a more intimate feeling. Disneyland is much smaller and is just a park. Disneyland opened in the 50’s. Furthermore, due to its small size, it is possible to cover entire Disneyland on foot. Some people prefer Disneyland because they claim it has a more authentic Disney air as it is the first Disney world to be constructed. Classical rides such as Indiana Jones, Finding Nemo, Storybook Land, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Snow White, Pinocchio found in Disneyland.

What is Disneyworld?

On the other hand, Disneyworld in over 47 square mile area in Central Florida, which is considerably larger than Disneyland. Disney has much empty property to expand even more here. Disneyworld has 4 parks on the property. One major difference between the two theme parks pertains to their day to day operations. Disney constructed a series of tunnels in Disneyworld to allow workers to move from one area of the park to another without being spotted by the customers. This solved the problem of guests coming out of their imaginary world. Walt Disney died even before construction began on renovation of Disneyworld. Roy Disney, his brother, took charge to carry forward the legacy. Disneyworld is billed as a collection of parks and resort. Work on Disneyworld began in the 70’s only when Walt decided to build a larger theme park elsewhere. Disneyworld is so large that you need to drive to reach different places like golf courses and resorts.

What is the difference between Disneyland and Disneyworld?

• Both Disneyland and Disneyworld are theme parks made for people to escape from reality and for merriment.

• Disneyland is in California whereas Disneyworld is in Florida.

• Disneyland is much smaller than Disneyworld.

• Disneyland has 2 parks whereas Disneyworld has 4 parks and many more facilities.

• Kids enjoy more at Disneyland as it gives a more intimate feeling.

• You can cover Disneyland in foot, but to cover Disneyworld you might have to drive to reach different places.

• Classic rides are found more in Disneyland than in Disneyworld.
