Difference Between Eating and Smoking Weed

Eating vs Smoking Weed

Eating weed and smoking weed are two different ways in consuming marijuana. Weed is another name of marijuana which is a psychoactive drug banned in most countries of the world. It is a powder that comes from the plant of Cannabis that is used in the treatment of some ailments. Weed is known to mankind since time immemorial and finds mention in Hindu scriptures called Vedas. In modern times, ever since its ill effects were discovered, weed has been declared illegal in most of the countries. However, weed continues to be used by a sizeable number of people all over the world. Weed contains more than 400 chemical compounds, many of which are considered to be undesirable for the mental health of the people who consume it.

Consumption of weed is usually through smoking while there are also people who consume it by eating it. It is eaten by adding weed in many recipes to make consumption easy. Smoking is easy as it can be easily rolled in a thin piece of paper just like tobacco and inhaled like a cigarette. To maximize the effect of weed, smokers use specially made straws of rice or wheat. When paper is used, it needs to be thin as otherwise, burning paper dilutes the effect of weed. There are many who use bongs to smoke weed. These bongs are available in the market but some people make use of a container at home to smoke weed.

The other way of consuming weed is of course to add it when preparing recipes. However, if you want to prepare weed filled cakes or brownies, you have to make sure that it is legal in your country. No special cooking method is required as your marijuana recipe is ready by just adding the powder to the ingredients.

Talking about differences in the two methods of consumption, of course the first is that while you can eat your weed cake without anyone knowing that you are taking weed, smoking does not look so innocent. On to serious differences, there is a feeling among users that eating weed produces effects a bit later but it stays longer than with smoking. On the other hand, the onset of effect is instant when people smoke weed as it goes directly in their body system. The person does not feel a thing for almost an hour when he eats weed, but once the effect is on, it stays four times longer than what is felt when weed is smoked. It is therefore clear that one should be careful when adding dried leaves of weed to a recipe as increased amount may cause the psychedelic effect to remain for a considerable period of time. Besides, it may even harm the person.
