Entrepreneur and Trader are two words that are often confused as words denotative of the same meaning. In fact, they are two words that convey different meanings. A trader is a person who deals with the action of buying and selling. On the other hand, an entrepreneur is one who deals with the profits resulting from selling of products.

Trader does the act of buying and selling with business intentions. On the other hand, an entrepreneur gets into selling products, only with the intention of experiencing profits. Trading involves both business and commerce. On the other hand, entrepreneur eyes more on commerce.

The word ‘trader’ is used in connection with business firms and their activities. On the other hand, entrepreneur is dependent on these business firms and their activities. An entrepreneur should be mentally prepared to share the losses too in business. He is a person who takes the possession of a new enterprise, venture on an idea, and is accountable for the risks connected with them.

An entrepreneur has to pay a lot of attention to business ethics. On the other hand, a trader too has to show regard to business ethics. An entrepreneur shines in his field if he exhibits business skills as well. He should exhibit leadership qualities too. On the other hand, a trader has not much to do with leadership and hence, he need not exhibit leadership qualities.

The atmosphere of the workplace affects the behavior of an entrepreneur. On the other hand, the atmosphere of the workplace has no influence on a trader for that matter. A trader need not take into account technologies involved in the production of products. On the other hand, an entrepreneur should pay attention to the technologies involved in the making of a product.
