Difference Between Guys and Girls

Guys vs Girls

It is rather obvious that there exist a number of differences between guys and girls not only from a biological perspective but also from a gender perspective. This topic of guys and girls is one issue that has long been debated upon. Who is the best? Who is really dominant and who is better at everything? These are some of the questions that have been posed by various people. In the past, however, the answer to all these questions was ‘boys’. Yet, in the modern world, girls are getting pretty good at almost everything, even surpassing males. First, when engaging in a contrast between the two, it is important to pay attention to the definitions. A guy can be defined as a young man or else the male child. On the other hand, a girl can be defined as the female child or else a young woman.

Who are Guys?

When speaking of guys, biologically they have a tendency to grow taller and leaner. Unlike girls, they like being in motion all the time. This is one of the reasons as to why boys are much more active in comparison to girls. They also tend to be more aggressive rather than emotional. More often than not, guys are physically stronger. Due to this reason, in the past, it was men who had to do the heavy duty jobs. Guys are not good at handling stressful events as most would succumb to vice. The usage of alcohol as escapism from the problems and stress of daily life can be taken as an example to understand this situation. It is not only the biological factors that influence the image of a guy. The social and cultural aspects also play a vital role in the construction of this gender role. For instance, boys are not usually very emotional or sensitive. Even if the natural temperament of the individual dictates such, the bringing up molds the individual to be tough. This is another significant difference that can be identified between the two.

Who are Girls?

On the other hand, girls are usually considered the weaker sex. This is because biologically they are not as strong as guys. They have smaller hands and structure. Studies and science have shown that women have a more sensitive touch since the nerve endings are closely packed together. There is a higher chance for girls to become addicted to drugs and substances especially during the time when their hormones are at a peak. Girls are also more prone to eating disorders as well as obesity. Culturally speaking, the social expectation dictates that a girl remains sensitive, loving, emotional and dependent. This factor of dependency is often associated with girls because throughout history girls have always been considered weak and vulnerable. However, in the 21st century, this concept is wearing off. Nowadays, girls also have equal rights as guys to education, employment so on and so forth. With this they have been able to secure independence. Also by nature, girls have a strong ability to handle pressure and also a strong sense of endurance. Yet when it comes to emotions, girls are very expressive unlike guys.
