iOS 4.2.8 vs 4.2.9
Apple has released a software update for CDMA iPhone 4 (Verizon iPhone 4) on 18 July 2011. The update is an add on to iOS 4.2.5 through iOS 4.2.8. The latest iOS version for iPhone 4 (CDMA) is iOS 4.2.9. The software update is issued to fix the security vulnerability associated with viewing malicious PDF files.
With the update, viewing a malicious PDF file result in un expected application termination or arbitrary code termination.
A similar software update is available for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 (GSM model), iPod Touch (3rd and 4th generation) and iPad, which is iOS 4.3.4
Apple’s next generation mobile operating system is iOS 5, which will be released to the users before the fall os 2011.
