Droid 3 arrives on the CDMA network of Verizon and has better features than Droid 2. Not only is the screen bigger, it carries higher resolution as well. The processing power of Droid 3 is decisively more with a dual core processor and has a very powerful camera and is HDMI capable also. The only disappointing aspect is no support for LTE network which means users cannot experience the very high 4 G speeds.

Droid 3 retains the side slider form factor of Droid 2 and has a 4 inch capacitive touch screen that produces images in 540 x 960 pixels. It offers multi touch input method, has an ambient light sensor and a proximity sensor too. It runs on Android platform (2.2 Froyo) with a powerful 1 GHz TI OMAP dual core processor. It has 16 GB of internal memory with 1 GB of RAM. The smartphone has a nice looking 8 MP camera at the back capable of recording HD videos. Surprisingly, it does not have a front camera like its predecessor.

Motorola Droid 2

It was the use of Android platform that catapulted Motorola into limelight and reinvigorated the company that was plagued with lackluster response to its phones. Droid 2 was an upgrade to its much popular Droid but also boasted of some totally new features. Droid 2 is a smartphone with a full QWERTY sliding keypad with an industrial design that is not angular but rounded and it is its ruggedness that gas been loved by the consumers.

To begin with, Droid 2 has dimensions of 116.3 x 60.5 x 13.7 mm and weighs just 169g. It has a nice TFT capacitive touch screen of 3.7 inches that produces a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels which is extremely bright and can be easily viewed even in day light. The images are in 16M colors that are true to life and capable of mesmerizing with their richness.

Droid 2 has a full QWERTY sliding keyboard, multi touch input method, accelerometer, proximity sensor and a 3.5 mm audio jack at the top. The smartphone runs on Android 2.2 Froyo, has a 1 GHz processor with 8 GB onboard storage. Internal memory can be expanded up to 32 GB using micro SD cards. Droid 2 has a 5 MP camera at the back that shoots pictures in 2592 x 1944 pixels, has auto focus, and can record videos in HD in 720p at 30fps. It lacks a secondary camera.

The phone is Wi-Fi802.11b/g/n, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, and GPS with A-GPS. It has an HTML browser with full Adobe flash 10.1 support that makes surfing media rich files a breeze. It is packed with standard Li-ion battery (1450mAh) that provides a super talk time of up to 10 hours.
