Motorola Xoom 3G-4G and Xoom Wi-Fi are the Xoom tablet variations released by Motorola. Motorola Xoom is the award winning tablet introduced at the CES 2011 in Las Vegas showcasing the best of Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Motorola originally released the 3G-4G model for US carrier Verizon’s 3G-CDMA network with a promised upgrade to 4G-LTE in May 2011. The Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi models are released globally starting from March 2011. The only difference between Motorola Xoom 3G-4G and Xoom Wi-Fi is the connectivity. Motorola Xoom 3G-4G has the CDMA/LTE radios to support 3G/4G network whereas Xoom Wi-Fi depends only on the Wi-Fi hotspots to connect to internet.

Leaving the connectivity, both carry the same features. Taking the advantage of the Android Honeycomb that was specifically designed for large screen devices like tablets, Motorola has packed Xoom with excellent features, no doubt it won the award at CES 2011. It features 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor, 1GB RAM, 5 MP rear camera with  dual LED flash and the capability to record HD videos at 720p@30fps, 2 MP front facing camera for video chat,  32GB internal memory, HDMI out and GPS with Google Map 5.0 with 3D interaction. The device has built-in gyroscope, barometer, e-compass, accelerometer and adaptive lighting for new types of applications. The tablet also can be a mobile hot spot with the capability to connect up to five Wi-Fi devices.

Browsing in a 10.1 inch HD display (1280 x 800 pixels) with Android Honeycomb and supported by Adobe Flash Player 10.1 is a nice experience like browsing in a PC and multitasking is smooth and enjoyable. Motorola Xoom users have full access to Android Market that has over 150,000 application and thousands of them are free for download. The applications that need mention are tablet optimized Gmail, redesigned YouTube and ebook.

The tablet is slim and light weight with a dimension of 9.80″ (249mm) x 6.61″ (167.8mm) x 0.51(12.9mm) and weighing 25.75 oz (730g)..

The Wi-Fi model is priced universally at $599.
