Samsung Exhibit 4G vs HTC Sensation 4G

Samsung and HTC are two major players in 4G segment and have a range of mobiles that support 4G. While HTC Sensation 4G is the US version of the Sensation unveiled in April 2011, Samsung has unveiled its latest Android powered smartphone Exhibit on 2 June 2011. Both Samsung Exhibit 4G and HTC Sensation 4G are exclusively for T-Mobile’s HSPA+21Mbps network. Let us make a quick comparison of these two 2011 summer releases.

Samsung Exhibit 4G

Samsung has pulled a coup of sorts with Exhibit 4G as it plans to make available Android smartphone experience to users at an unbelievably low price. This smartphone is available at less than a hundred dollars on a two year contract on T-Mobile’s blazing fast network that is sure to attract lots of customers who dream of smartphones but cannot afford high prices.

The smartphone, also called Samsung Hawk, measures 119×58.4×12.7 mm and weighs just 125 g. It has a nice 3.7 inch display that uses AMOLED technology making images very bright indeed. HTC Sensation 4G

HTC is a heavyweight when it comes to 4G and its Sensation is the latest example of its expertise in making smartphones. It is loaded with all the latest features and is really a high end mobile. It sports a huge 4.3 inch display that is enough to lure people who value display most when choosing their mobile.

Sensation has dimensions of 126.1×65.4×11.3 mm and weighs 148 g. The screen, which stands at a huge 4.3 inch, is super LCD capacitive touch screen that produces images at a high resolution of 540×960. Use of Gorilla glass display has meant that the screen is scratch resistant. It allows for multi touch input method, has accelerometer, proximity sensor and light sensor apart from boasting of the standard 3.5mm audio jack at the top.

Sensation runs on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the latest HTC Sense 3.0, has a powerful dual core 1.2 GHz processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon), Adreno 220 GPU, and packs a solid 768 MB RAM that makes multi tasking easy indeed. Surfing the net is also a breeze with such powerful features as the phone has an HTML browser with full flash support.

Sensation is a delight for those loving to shoot stills and videos as it has an excellent rear camera that is 8 MP and clicks images in 3264×2448 pixels. It is autofocus and has dual LED flash. It has features of geo tagging, image stabilization, and face detection. It can record videos in HD and that too 1080p at 30fps. Sensation also has a secondary VGA camera for those who like to share their new photos with their friends all the time.

For connectivity, Sensation is Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. DLNA, Hotspot, GPS with A-GPS, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP. It also has stereo FM with RDS. It provides great speeds in HSPA that include up to 14.4 Mbps of HSDPA and up to 5.6 Mbps of HSUPA.
