Weak and week are two English words that have been a source of constant confusion for many people as they make incorrect use of these words. This is because of the phonetic similarities between the two words. The two words are homophones implying it is hard to make out any difference between weak and week when one hears these words spoken by another person. However, the two words have quite different meanings that will be highlighted in this article.
Weak
Weak is a word that means something that is fragile and not strong. Anything lacking in power, stamina, or force is labeled as weak. Someone who lacks physical strength is also referred to as weak while the word is also used for an authority also when it is seen as lacking power. Week
Week is a noun that refers to a time period or duration of 7 days. However, this period is counted from Monday to Sunday or Sunday to Saturday to constitute a week. However, it is not mandatory, and any seven day period is generally labeled as a week. Take a look at the following examples.

• It is going to be a weeklong vacation
