A crucifix is a cross with the body of Christ over it. The symbol remains a cross until it has the body of the Christ depicted over it. All Catholic Christians are urged to keep a crucifix in their homes and pay their prayers in front of this crucifix to show their devotion for Jesus. A Christian can sit, kneel, stand, or pray in any other position, in front of the crucifix. He can bow his head, close his eyes, or keep eyes open while praying.
