A cross is loved and revered by all Christians for this very fact. As a religious symbol, a cross can be seen on Churches, cathedrals, Christian schools and many other institutions.
Crucifix
A crucifix is a Christian symbol that depicts the body of Jesus tied on the cross reminding all of us the pain and sacrifice he made for our redemption. A crucifix is a cross with the body of Christ over it. The symbol remains a cross until it has the body of the Christ depicted over it. All Catholic Christians are urged to keep a crucifix in their homes and pay their prayers in front of this crucifix to show their devotion for Jesus. A Christian can sit, kneel, stand, or pray in any other position, in front of the crucifix. He can bow his head, close his eyes, or keep eyes open while praying.
What is the difference between a Cross and a Crucifix?
