Dell Venue Pro vs Apple iPhone 4 – Full Specs Compared
Dell Venue Pro and Apple iPhone 4 have two different form factors. Dell Venue Pro is a portrait slider having a 4.1″ sliding touch screen. The vertical slider slide up for a physical keyboard, a good physical keyboard. Apple iPhone 4 is a candy bar with 3.5″ display. Though iPhone 4 display is smaller, the retina display (LED back-lit LCD display with IPS technology and 960 x 640 resolution) is a benchmark for mobile phones. Venue Pro display (AMOLED with WVGA 800×480 resolution) though not to the standard of retina display is sharp and bright. iPhone 4 is very slim, light and attractive while Dell Venue Pro is fairly thick and bulky, but it too is attractive. The software also different in both while iPhone 4 runs the latest iOS 4.3 Dell Venue Pro is based on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7. However the clock speed of the CPUs in both the phones are same, it’s 1GHz. Both the phones also offer two options for internal memory and in both the memories are not removable and not expandable, but iPhone 4 has better options. iPhone 4 offers 16GB or 32 GB while Dell Venue Pro offers 8GB or 16GB. The camera lens resolution also same in both, both are 5MP cameras but performance wise iPhone 4 camera is better. And with Windows Phone you cannot share your captions from the phone to the social networks. Again both do not support the HSPA+ network.
Talking about the operating system, though Windows Phone 7 is fairly a new entrant, users may find it familiar as they are used to Windows system in their PCs. The browser in Dell Venue is Internet Explorer Mobile and iPhone utilizes the same Safari browser used in Mac PCs and iDevices. The attraction in Windows Phones is the built in Xbox Live.
Of course Dell Venue Pro’s pricing is reasonable and its available on line. The 8GB model is priced at $99.99 with a new 2 year contract and the 16GB model is available for $149.99 with a new 2 year contract. 8GB unlocked phone is priced $449.99 and 16GB unlocked is $499.99. Apple iPhone is quite expensive; the 16GB iPhone 4 is $199 with a new 2 year contract and 32GB iPhone 4 is $299 with a new 2 year contract.
