Apple finally releases its white iPhone 4 on 28 April 2011 to fulfill the promise it made when it first unveiled the iPhone 4 in June 2010. While every manufacture is announcing phones with dual core processors and large screens, Apple is confident that 1GHz processor is more than enough for most of the mobile users and what they expect is an excellent design with simple OS and more applications. The very fact that new smartphones are being compared with Apple iPhone 4 that was launched in the middle of 2010 speaks volumes of the abilities and the innovative design of this amazing smartphone by Apple. The white iPhone 4 is very attractive and fully wrapped in white including the bezel area. The White iPhone 4 is slightly thicker than Black iPhone 4, white is 9.5mm and black is 9.3mm. Other than for the color and thickness all other features remain same. There is no difference between Black iPhone 4 and White iPhone 4 in their hardware and software.
The iPhone 4 boasts about its 3.5 inches LED backlit Retina display with higher resolution of 960×640 pixels, though not huge it’s comfortable enough to read everything because it is extremely bright and sharp with a resolution of 960X640 pixels. The touchscreen is highly sensitive and scratch resistant. The phone works very smoothly, powered by 1GHz Apple A4 processor. The operating system is iOS 4.3 that is considered to be the best in the business is fluid on the device. Web browsing on Safari is a pleasant experience and the user has the liberty to download thousands of apps from Apple’s app store. The other features include 512 MB eDRAM, internal memory options of 16 or 32 GB and dual camera, 5 megapixel 5x digital zoom rear camera with LED flash and 0.3 megapixel camera for FaceTime video chat and hotspot capability.
The slim candy bar has dimensions of 15.2 x 48.6 x 9.3 mm and weighs just 137g. For connectivity, there is Bluetooth v2.1+EDR and the phone has Wi-Fi 802.1b/g/n at 2.4 GHz.
The White iPhone 4 is available with both GSM and CDMA configuration and the same 16GB/32GB variations. Both Black iPhone 4 and White iPhone 4 are available to US carriers AT&T and Verizon and also available globally with many carriers. It is available for $200 (16 GB) and $ 300 (32 GB) on a new 2 year contract. And a data plan is also required for web based applications. It is also available in the Apple Store, other retail outlets and in online stores.
