Though it is mainly green in color like Indian Redneck there is a blue grey sheen on cheeks and nape, and it is differentiated with a characteristic yellow green abdomen which is absent in Indian Redneck. The color of tail feathers is also different from Indian Redneck. There is a bold maroon patch on the body of all Alexandrine parrots which differentiates them from Indian Redneck. This colored patch is called shoulder patch. Males have a black ring in necks while females do not have a ring.
