Your handset which you use to make and receive voice calls is technically a mobile though you may feel confident if it is called a smartphone, right? Many people are confused with the nomenclature and cannot make out differences between a basic mobile and a smartphone. A smartphone combines the facilities and features of a PDA to a basic phone so you get more features such as a web browser, navigational abilities with GPS and A-GPS, HDMI capabilities (you can watch the HD videos recorded by the digital camera of your smartphone instantly on your HDTV, e-reader (so you get to enjoy exciting books on the net), connect your friends on various social networking sites, and so on.

There is no standard definition of a smartphone and today basic mobile phones are slowly and gradually incorporating features of smartphones that were exclusive to smartphones only a few months ago.
