Samsung Droid Charge and HTC Droid Incredible 2 add variations to Verizon’s Droid series phones. While Droid Charge is a 4G phone with 4.3″ super AMOLED display HTC Droid Incredible 2 is a 3G phone with 4″ sper LCD display. Both run skinned Android 2.2 with Google and use their own trademark user interfaces.

Samsung Droid Charge

Samsung Droid Charge features 4.3 inch super AMOLED plus WVGA (800 x 480) display and powered by 1GHz Hummingbird processor with 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM. It has an impressive memory capacity (2GB + preloaded 32GB microSD card with support for expansion upto 32GB) and battery life, which is rated at 660min talktime. Droid Charge is compatible with 3G CDMA EvDO and 4G LTE network. You can enjoy the 4G speed in the LTE coverage area. Also you can share your 4G speed with 10 other Wi-Fi enabled devices with the mobile hotspot feature.

Droid Charge is based on Android 2.2 with Samsung’s own TouchWiz 3.0. The OS is upgradeable over the air. Droid Charge is a Google certified device and thus has full access to Google Mobile Service, which is integrated to the handset for one touch access. In addition to this and Android Market, the handset is also loaded with Verizon special Apps and Samsung Apps.

Droid Charge has dual cameras, 8MP camera at the rear and 1.3MP in the front for video chat . For connectivity it has Bluetooth v2.1+EDR and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n.

Samsung Droid Charge has exclusive tie up with Verizon. The phone is compatible with Verizon’s 4G-LTE 700 and 3G- CDMA EvDO Rev.A. Verizon promises 5 to 12 Mbps download speeds and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G Mobile Broadband coverage area. It also support global roaming.

Verizon is offering both Droid Charge for $300 on a new two year contract. Customers have to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan and a 4G LTE data package. Nationwide Talk plans starts from $39.99 monthly access and an unlimited 4G LTE data plan begins at $29.99 monthly access. Mobile hotspot is included through May 15 for no additional charge.

HTC Droid Incredible 2

HTC Droid Incredible 2 features a faster next generation 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor (the same processor used in HTC ThunderBolt), 4 inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) super LCD display, 768MB RAM, 8MP rear camera with dual Xenon flash that can capture HD video at 720p. The super LCD display is very clear and produce vivid colors, better than the display of the previous Incredible. On the design side, it is similar to HTC Incredible S, there is no physical button in the front. The on screen button rotates when you change to landscape.

For connectivity it has Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 with FTP/OPP for file transfer and a microUSB port available on the left side edge. The other features include surround sound environment via SRS WOW HD, Bluetooth A2DP for wireless stereo headset,DLNA, GPS with preloaded maps and unified inbox for all email accounts.

The phone runs Android 2.2.1 with HTC Sense, the operating system is upgradeable to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). HTC Sense offers 7 homescreens that can be customized. It’s a world phone with the capability to roam globally, so you can carry this phone when you go outside US.

HTC Droid Incredible 2 is another addition to Verizon’s Droid series with a price tag of $ 200 with a new 2 year contract and data plan. Verizon’s Nationwide Talk plans starts from $39.99 monthly access.
