Samsung Droid Charge vs iPhone 4 – Full Specs Compared
Samsung Droid Charge is the second 4G LTE phone on Verizon’s LTE network. iPhone 4 CDMA model is already on the Verizon’s CDMA network. Samsung Droid Charge is compatible with 3G CDMA Ev-DO network, where there is no 4G coverage the phone will switch to 3G CDMA network. Samsung Droid Charge with a huge 4.3 inch super AMOLED plus display runs Android 2.2, which is over the air upgradable to Android 2.3. Samsung Droid Charge should not be confused with the Motorola Droid lineup. The US carrier for Droid series devices, the Verizon has differentiated Samsung Droid with a red eye logo.

Samsung Droid Charge features 4.3 inch super AMOLED plus WVGA (800 x 480) display and powered by 1GHz Hummingbird processor and 512 MB RAM + 512 MB ROM. Droid Charge is compatible with 3G CDMA EvDO and 4G LTE network. You can enjoy the 4G speed in the LTE coverage area. Droid Charge is based on Android 2.2 with Samsung’s own TouchWiz 3.0. Droid Charge is a Google certified device and having one touch access Google Apps from integrated Google Mobile Service.
Verizon’s 4G network offers download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps, which nearly 10 times faster than 3G connection. 4G mobile hotspot capability allows users to connect upto 10 Wi-Fi enabled device to enjoy the 4G speed.
The phone is available from 3rd May 2011 with Verizon for $300 with a new 2 year contract or phone only for $690. It’s available with Verizon outlets, Samsung’s Let’s talk, Amazon and Best buy. For web based applications you need to subscribe for a Verizon data plan. Verizon’s Nationwide Talk 450 starts from $40 for unlimited data.
Apple iPhone 4
iPhone 4 needs no introduction. it is a slim, conveniently sized and elegantly designed smartphone. It features 3.5 inches LED backlit Retina display with higher resolution of 960×640 pixels, 1GHz Apple A4 processor, 512 MB eDRAM, internal memory options of 16 or 32 GB and dual camera, 5 megapixel 5x digital zoom rear camera with LED flash and 0.3 megapixel camera for video calling. The touchscreen is highly sensitive and scratch resistant.
The remarkable feature of the iPhone devices is the operating system iOS 4.2.1 and the Safari web browser. The software is now upgradeable to iOS 4.3 that has included many new features, one such is the hotspot capability. The Safari performance also increased with upgrade to iOS 4.3.
