Difference Between Samsung Focus S and Focus Flash

Samsung Focus S vs Focus Flash | Samsung Focus Flash vs Focus S Speed, Performance and Features

It is really hard to differentiate between twin brothers, but sometimes, for the purpose of identity, it is entirely necessary. What we are going to elaborate here is how two twin brothers from Samsung differ from one another. At a glance, Samsung Focus S can be seen as the larger one in dimension while Flash takes a relatively smaller dimension. That been said, there are substantial differences in what is inside though. Simply speaking, Focus S is the big brother of Focus Flash, which is relatively an economical edition, targeted at the middle layer customers. These two brothers from Samsung were launched at the same time this month for AT&T, and both have a 1.4 GHz Scorpion Processor featuring a Snapdragon chipset, which is cutting edge. Focus S and Focus Flash both run on Windows Mobile 7.5 Mango, which is significantly better than their previous releases. Flash has a relative grey shade as its color, while Focus S is pitch black, and goes as the thinnest phone having 8.5mm thickness. Let us look into micro differences of these two one by one.

Samsung Focus S

Been the big brother, it has the same initial set up with some great improvements thrown towards it. It comes with elegant Samsung design with curved edges giving it an expensive look and feel, which would utterly satisfy any customer. In Laymen terms, it is a killer phone outside. Talking about what is inside, the 1.4GHz Scorpion Processor in the state of the art Snapdragon chipset is a main attraction along with the 512MB RAM, which seems like a blowback for such a high-end processor. It comes with a 4.3 inches Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors promising a 480 x 800 pixels of a resolution. Samsung has not forgotten the camera lovers either; it has included a 8MP camera with autofocus and LED flash that can capture videos in 720p HD. It also has 1.3MP front camera along with Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP enabling video chat functionality.

Samsung Focus S comes with internal storage of 16GB / 32GB with no SD card slot, but 32GB storage would be sufficient for an average customer. Having the latest windows 7.5 Mango OS means, this Smartphone is ready to stay always connected and added to that, it can make use of AT&T’s 4G network for high speed Internet browsing with the built in HTML5 enabled browser. Not only that; but it has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, ability to act as a Wi-Fi hotspot, also a significant improvement is the availability of push mail. It has a sleek, expensive design with the dimensions of 126 x 66.8 x 8.5mm featuring the thinnest smartphone with a pure black color giving customers the advantage of a good look and feel.

Focus S comes with all the necessities anyone would need, and there is room for extension, as well. It has A-GPS support and powers Geo-tagging feature in camera with that. It also has a Digital Compass and a great media player along with a microUSB v2.0 connection allowing high-speed data transfer. Focus S comes with a 1650 mAh battery with 6.5h of talk time, which is decent enough for a smartphone, with gigantic screen.

Samsung Focus Flash

Been the little brother, it has its fallbacks, but still it is a great phone. Focus Flash has a relatively cheap look with the grey shade of color and stiff edges, which does not really please the customer much, but compensating that, what is inside is actually promising for the prize it is offered by AT&T. It has the same 1.4 GHz processor in the Snapdragon chipset with a 512MB RAM, and it is running on Windows Mobile 7.5 Mango, which is the same as its brother. It also features a 3.7inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen featuring a 480 x 800 resolution with a slightly high pixel density of 252ppi. Since it has a built in video player, it would be a great entertainment device, as well.

A 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash enables Focus Flash to capture video in 720p HD, but the camera is certainly not the best we can find in the market. With the built in A-GPS support, it also has the Geo-tagging functionality enabled. The front camera combined with Bluetooth v2.1 A2DP enables a smooth video chat. Focus Flash comes with an 8GB of storage, which cannot be extended. This is obviously a bit of a headache because 8GB worth of storage is not that sufficient. Offered by AT&T, Flash takes the optimum usage of the carrier’s 4G infrastructure for fast internet browsing with built in HTML5 enabled browser with the option to create a Wi-Fi hotspot with the built in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. It is relatively thicker than Focus S, but the dimensions are smaller to that of Focus Flash with 116.1 x 58.7mm.

Focus Flash also has a digital compass and microUSB v2.0 for high-speed data transfer. It features a relatively light battery of 1500mAh, but with the smaller screen size, it promises the same talk time of 6.5h talk time as its brother.
