Design

When the device is compared with the iPhone 6S Plus, there is a noticeable difference. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge can be said to be the better designed of the two. The phone has also been designed to be dust and water proof. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has curves on the front and the rear of the device is  just like the Samsung Note 5 and the Samsung S6 Edge models. The only issue with the body is the presence of a glass back which is delicate and attracts a lot of fingerprints.

Display

The display comes with a stunning curved design and is equipped with a few more tricks. The new Edge comes with additional space and the developers have the option to make apps that support the Edge display. After crafting the Nexus 6P, Huawei got a reputation for crafting quality phones. The latest Huawei flagship device is the Huawei Mate 8 which is a different beast, to say the least. This smartphone is a lovely device, and it has been crafted in an immaculate way. The only problem that seems to be in the device is the software part. The hardware of the device seems impressive.

Design

The device is larger than many other devices out there, but it is a comfort to hold in the hand. The thickness of the device is very small at only 7.3 mm. The design of the Huawei Mate 8 is elegant and would be even ideal for the next Nexus device to be released. From a design point of view, the Huawei’s design will sit head on with Apple and Samsung. Because such a unique design coupled with high-end hardware is too expensive, many manufacturers will concentrate on the software rather than these.

Display

The screen size of the device is 6 inches, and the resolution of the device is 1080p. The bezels which hold the screen are very thin.

Processor

Rather than going for a Snapdragon processor as with many Android smartphone devices, Huawei Mate 8 uses an octa-core Kirin 950 processor which comes with four cortex A72 and four cortex A53 CPU processors. The graphics are powered by ARM Mali T880 graphics processor unit.

Storage

The built-in storage on the device is 128 GB, which can be further expanded with the help of a micro SD card.

Camera

One of the main disappointments on the device is the lack of a USB Type-C port that would have been useful for fast charging and fast data transfer rates.

There is a new feature on the phone which is known as Knuckle Sense that enables the user to capture a screenshot of the screen with a double tap with the Knuckle, and the user can also capture a portion of the screen by drawing a circle with the knuckle as well. When double tapping the screen with two knuckles, the device is able to start a screen record as well.

There seems to be not much difference from a performance point of view between the two devices. An advantage with the Huawei Mate 8 is the fact that it comes with a higher internal storage which will inevitably perform faster when compared with additional storage provided by the micro SD card.
