T-Mobile G2 and T-Mobile G2X are two Android based smartphones available for T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network. They are T-Mobile’s premium 4G phones. T-Mobile G2 is manufactured by HTC while T-Mobile G2X is by LG, it is the US version of LG Optimus 2X. Both are Google trademarked devices and run the stock Android 2.2. T-Mobile G2X is the latest version in T-Mobiles G series and is the first phone for T-Mobile with dual core processor. T-Mobile G2 has 800 MHz second generation Qualcomm MSM 7230 Snapdragon processor whereas it’s 1GHz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor in T-Mobile G2x. The other major differences between T-Mobile G2 and T-Mobile G2X are the physical keyboard in G2 and front facing camera for video calling in G2x. As a Google certified device both phones have access to entire Android Market and Google Mobile Apps from Google talk to Google Goggle.

Both the phones perform well at HSPA+ speed, multitasking and browsing are smooth and the call quality is also good. You can do seamless browsing in both supported by Adobe Flash Player 10.1.

T-Mobile G2

T-Mobile G2 made by HTC with Google trademark was the first smartphone to support T-Mobile’s HSPA+ Network. It has a slideout keyboard and touchscreen with swype and trackpad for input. The keyboard is designed nicely for fast and accurate typing. The T-Mobile G2 runs stock Android 2.2. The shortcoming in the phone is the absense of front facing camera for video calling and video chat.

On the content side it has featured applications like Photobucket and Wolfram Alpha and has access to entire Android Market and preloaded with all google apps, from Gmail to Google Goggle.

T-Mobile G2X

T-Mobile G2X is the American brother of LG Optimus 2X that has been creating waves in the global markets for some time now. It is equipped with Tegra 2 Dual Core processor at a speed of 1 GHz and is a dual camera device with a rear 8 MP and a front 1.3 MP camera. The rear camera allows the user to capture HD videos at 1080p and also enables user to watch them instantly on TV as it supports HDMI mirroring.

T-Mobile G2X has a large 4” WVGA display at a resolution of 480X800 pixels which is bright enough allowing the user to read even in broad daylight. The phone has internal memory standing at 8 GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB using micro SD cards. It is powered by a lithium ion battery (1500mAH) that allows for hours of uninterrupted audio/video as well as web browsing pleasure.

Despite having a large display, the phone is surprisingly handy with measurements standing at 4.88 x 2.49 x 0.43 inches, and it also weighs just 139 gm. The screen is highly capacitive with features of multi touch, proximity sensor, and light sensor. With android Froyo 2.2 as the OS, the user has the liberty to download thousands of apps from the app store.
