Difference between Daemon and Demon exist in the meanings of the two words. Therefore, one can say Daemon and Demon are two words that have to be understood with difference. Daemon refers to benevolent and noble spirits in Greek mythology. On the other hand, demon refers to an evil creature. This is the main difference between the two words. The origins of both daemon and demon can be traced back to Greek mythology. However, it was Christianity not Greek mythologies that put a malignant and darker meaning to demons. According to Christianity there are no good demons. However, poets and philosophers explore this using a different approach which results in we being able to see good demons.

On the other hand, in Hinduism it is believed that Lord Vishnu took several incarnations to put an end to the atrocities of various demons in different epochs. The same is true with some of the other religions of the world too. Unlike the word daemon which is often used in the sense of ‘a good being and character’, the word ‘demon’ is more often used only in the sense of ‘a bad being and character’.
