Key Difference – Epcot vs Magic Kingdom
Epcot and Magic Kingdom were the first two theme parks to be opened in Walt Disney World, Florida. Opened in 1971, Magic Kingdom aimed purely at entertainment. Epcot, which was based on a totally different concept, was opened 11 years later. Epcot is dedicated to technological innovation and diverse cultures whereas Magic Kingdom is built around fairy tales and Disney characters. This is the key difference between Epcot and Magic Kingdom.
What is Epcot?
Epcot (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow), the second theme park in the Walt Disney World, was opened in 1982. This theme park is nearly twice the size of Magic Kingdom and celebrates human achievements. Epcot is dedicated to technological innovations and international culture. Accordingly, the park is divided into two main sections: World Showcase and Future World.
Future World is dedicated to communication, energy, environment (land and sea) imagination, transportation, and space exploration. This section contains eight pavilions. The geodesic dome known as Spaceship Earth, which serves as the icon of the park, is at the front of the park and narrates the history of communication and the future avenues for communication. Other pavilions include Innoventions, Mission: Space, Test Track, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, The Land, and Imagination!

However, with the introduction of kid-friendly attractions such as KidCot, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, and Frozen Ever After, Epcot began to be popular as a park that provides both education and entertainment.
