The HTC 10 comes with an LCD 5 display which comes with a QHD resolution, and the size of the display is 5.2 inches. The pixel density of the device is 565ppi. From a specs point of view, the display is on par with devices which have been produced by LG and Samsung. The only drawback is the LCD technology which has been used instead of the AMOLED display. The HTC One M9 is an evolution of its predecessor the HTC One M8. The user experience, design, features, and specs are very similar to the HTC One M8. When the HTC One M8 was released, it was a great phone at that time itself. The design phone, as well as the software experience, was excellent. This was the key reasons the HTC M8 was a great phone. The HTC One M9 is a polished version of  HTC One M8. The HTC One M9 can be said to be an attempt towards perfecting the flagship device of HTC.

Design

The HTC One M9 comes with a high quality finish and precision. If we keep both HTC One M8 and the HTC One M9 close together, both designs will look almost identical. A notable difference between the two models is that the piece holding the display is made up of metal which fits onto a rear metal casing. The HTC One M9 is easier to grip when compared with the HTC One M8 due to the change in the design. The phone is also harder, and a ridge goes around the phone due to the two piece design. This is another sign and evidence of the precision with which the smartphone has been made with. Due to the anodized aluminum design, the body of the device does not attract finger prints. This will ensure that the smartphone will look clean and polished all the time. From a dimension point of view, The HTC One M9 is 144.6 x 69.7 x 9.61mm and the weight of the device is 157g. The HTC One M9 is slightly smaller than the HTC One M8 but not by much.

The top and bottom part of the device come with Boom sound speakers. These speakers are known to produce high quality sound. But due to locating the speaker, the height of the phone has increased. If the speakers were not installed, the device could have been made even more compact. But from a sound quality point of view, it is a worthy trade-off. The design has not changed much from the advent of the HTC One M7. For the last three years, the phone has not seen much change from a design point of view; some users find this design a bit repetitive. But there may be users who love the consistency provided by HTC throughout the year. The design may become a barrier for users who want to transition from the HTC One M8 to the HTC One M9 as there is no real difference between the two devices.

Another design feature of the HTC One M9 is the standby button being shifted from the top of the device to the right-hand side of the device. This has been placed in a perfect position, so it is easy to reach. The display can be double tapped as well in order to wake up the device. The micro SD card slot and the SIM slots are on opposite sides which make it a bit off.

The size of the display is 5 inches and has a resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels. But recent competitors have started using higher quality 250 X 1440 pixels resolution which is Quad HD. The screen pixel density stands at 440 ppi. The screen, in general, is sharp, and any type of content can be view without any issues. Competitors like Samsung has not only increased the resolution of the display but also the quality of it.  The size of the display is also fractionally increased when compared with its main competitors. So from a display aspect, the HTC One M9 is lagging behind when compared with is main rivals. When compared with the AMOLED displays that comes with the latest Samsung smartphones, the HTC One M9 display is more realistic. Viewing angles produced by the display are great while the brightness of the display is the same. The phone also supports glove mode which enables the user to use the phone with gloves on their hands. Overall the display on the device is great although it may be lagging behind on the Quality aspect.

Processor

The processor that powers the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SOC, which comes with an octa-core processor that has 64-bit capability. Although this processor had overheating issues previously, the HTC One M9 had no such issues. The device gets warm, but it does not get uncomfortable for the user at any stage.

Storage

The device comes with expandable storage which has been dropped by some of the leading flagship models. The internal storage on the device is 32 GB. The expandable storage will provide enough space to save photos, audio and any type of content.

Camera

The sensor resolution of the rear camera stands at 20MP, which also comes with a sapphire lens cover. The focal length of the same is 27.8mm, which can capture standard videos and also the latest 4K videos.

The memory that comes with the device is 3GB of RAM. The performance of the device was quick and fast able to accomplish any tasks that are thrown at it. The device had no problem supporting high-end graphic games.

The OS, which accompanies the device, is the Android Lollipop, which is covered by HTC Sense 7. HTC One M9 also comes with a widget known as Sense home which will serve most commonly used apps according to the location the user is in.

The battery capacity of the device is very similar to that found on the HTC One M8.
