HTC Sensation 4G and Motorola Atrix 4G are both dual core Android smartphones, the first is with T-Mobile and the latter with AT&T network. If the planned acqusition of T-Mobile by AT&T goes well this year, both will share the networks. HTC Sensation (rumored as HTC Pyramid) is compatible with WCDMA/HSDPA (14.4Mbps) networks and Motorola Atrix 4G is compatible with WCDMA/HSPA+ networks. HTC Sensation has 4.3″ qHD (960 x 540) TFT LCD display with 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and runs the latest Android 2.3.2 (Gingerbread). While Motorola Atrix 4G has 4″ qHD (960 x 540) PenTile LCD display with 1GHz dual-core Nvidia processor and runs Android 2.2.1 (Froyo), which is upgradeable to Android Gingerbread. Both run skinned Android with their own UI for user experience, HTC Sensation uses the new HTC Sense 3.0 for UI while Motorola Atrix has Motoblur. HTC Sensation is promoted as Multimedia superphone while Motorola Atrix 4G is promoted as a Mobile computer.
HTC Sensation 4G
HTC Sensation 4G is the US version of HTC Sensation (previously known as HTC Pyramid). If you are desirous of the latest Android based smartphone with a large display that is also fast and efficient in performance, HTC Sensation is another choice for you. This is a high performing smartphone that is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and features a huge 4.3” qHD display at a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels using Super LCD technology. The unique feature of Atrix 4G is the webtop techology and the fingerprint scanner. Motorola introduced the Webtop technology with Atrix 4G that replaces a laptop. All you need to enjoy the power of mobile computing is the laptop dock and the software (which you have to purchase separately). The 11.5 inch laptop dock with full physical keyboard is built in with Mozila firefox browser and adobe flash player that allows a fast, seemless browsing in a large screen. It will also mirror your phone content on the large screen. You can connect to internet with Wi-Fi or HSPA+ network that theoretically can connect you up to 21 Mbps speed, but in practice it connects up to 5 – 7 Mbps on downlink.
The fingerprint scanner combined with the power button at the top center back of the gadget gives an added security, you can enable the feature by going in to the set up and input your finger print with pin number. The other features include 5 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and capapbility of HD video recording at 720p@30fps, front VGA camera (640×480 pixels) for video calling, internal memory of 16GB that can be expanded to 32GB using a memory card, HDMI port, microUSB port (HDMI cable and USB cable are included to the package). Video recording and play can increase to 1080p with OS upgrade to Android 2.3 or more.
