HTC Sensation vs LG Optimus 2X – Full Specs Compared

HTC Sensation and LG Optimus 2X are two dual core Android smartphones. Both are 3G GSM phones for the global market. HTC Sensation has 4.3″ qHD (960 x 540) display with 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and runs the latest Android 2.3.2 (Gingerbread). While LG Optimus 2X has 4″ WVGA (800 x 480) display with 1GHz dual-core Nvidia processor and runs Android 2.2 (Froyo), which is upgradeable. Both the phones use skinned Android with their own UI for user experience, HTC Sensation has HTC Sense 3.0 for UI while it’s LG UX in Optimus 2X.

If you are desirous of the latest Android based smartphone with a large display that is also fast and efficient in performance, HTC Sensation may the phone you are looking. This is a high performing smartphone that is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and features a huge 4.3” qHD display at a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels using Super LCD technology. The processor is a second generation Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon chipset that consists of 1.2 GHz dual core Scopion CPU and Adreno 220 GPU, which will deliver high speed and performance efficiency while eating less power.

Running on the latest Android 2.3.2 (Gingerbread) with the new HTC Sense 3.0 UI, it gives a pleasing user experience. The new Sense UI gives a fresh look to the home screen and has included instant capture camera, multi window browsing with quick look up tool, customizable active lockscreen, 3D transitions and an immersive experience with the weather application.

This amazing phone has 768 MB RAM and 1 GB internal memory (8GB supplied on microSD card for certain countries). Internal memory can be expanded up to 32 GB using micro SD cards.

The smartphone is a dual camera device having an 8 MP camera with dual LED flash at the back that is capable of shooting HD videos at 1080p. It also has a front 1.2 MP camera that allows users to video chat/call. Rear camera has features of face/smile detection and geo tagging. For instant media sharing it has HDMI (HDMI cable required) and also it is DLNA certified.

It is the 1.2 GHz processor that makes all the difference which is felt when browsing. For connectivity, Sensation is Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP and compatible with 3G WCDMA/HSPA networks.

The phone is available globally and in US it is available with T-Mobile.

LG Optimus 2X

LG Optimus 2X is the first announced Android phone with dual core processor. It has superb hardware and runs Android 2.2 (upgradeable) with LG UX. Its amazing hardware includes 4″ WVGA (800 x 480) TFT LCD capacitive touch-screen, Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz Dual core processor, 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording at 1080p, 1.3 MP camera for video calling, 8 GB internal memory with support for expansion up to 32 GB and HDMI out (support up to 1080p).

The other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DLNA latest version 1.5, Video codec DivX and XviD, FM Radio and preloaded with Strek Kart game. With all these hardware inside, LG Optimus 2X is still slim too. Its dimension is 122.4 x 64.2 x 9.9 mm.

The Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset used in LG Optimus 2X is built with 1GHz cortex A9 dual core CPU, 8 GeForce GX GPU cores, NAND memory, native HDMI, dual display support and native USB. Dual display supports HDMI mirroring and in gaming act as motion controller, but it does not support for video playback.

LG Optus 2X is compatible with GSM, EDGE and HSPA networks and available in three colors, black, brown and white. It is an international phone and its US version is T-Mobile G2X.
