India vs China

India and China are two large countries in the continent of Asia. They are different from each other in several aspects such as their population, total area occupied, government, sports, culture, tourist destination, climate, economy and the like.

India is a subcontinent whereas China is not a subcontinent. India is a peninsula surrounded by water on three sides. On the other hand China is not a peninsula. It is a country that is not surrounded by water.

India is characterized by the Federal Republic form of government. On the other hand the government in China is Communist state. The chief currency in China is Yuan whereas the currency in India is Rupee. The capital city of China is Bejing and the capital city of India is New Delhi.

People’s Republic is established in China in the year 1949. On the other hand India attained independence in the year 1947. The chief languages spoken in China are Chinese and other local languages. On the other hand a number of languages and their dialect forms are spoken in India. The official language in India is Hindi. In addition to Hindi several other languages such as English, Oriya, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil and the like are spoken in India.

The literacy in China is 86%, whereas the literacy in India is 65%. One of the chief differences between India and China is that the population of China is higher when compared to that of India.

China is essentially an agricultural country. Some of the main crops grown in China are Soya, tea, rice, tobacco, groundnut and hemp. Cotton industry flourished in China. The economy of China is triggered by the production of minerals such as iron ore, gold, copper, mercury, silver, zinc, lead, antimony and tin.

On the other hand the economy of India is triggered by the production of rice since India too is considered to be agriculturally rich. It is one of the chief producers of tea and milk. India produces minerals such as copper and gold.

The Great Wall of China is one of the chief tourist attractions. It is considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is visible even from the Moon. On the other hand India too holds one of the Seven Wonders of the World namely the Taj Mahal. It is one of the most visited tourist destinations of the world.
